Pfizer Paediatric

For children aged 5-11 years old

All individuals aged between 5-11 are now eligible for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Please note that 2 doses are required at an interval of 8 weeks.

If your child has had Covid since the first dose, they must wait at least 3 months before having the second dose.

For example, Johnny received his first vaccine on March 1. His second vaccine is due on April 26 (ie 8 weeks interval) But he tested positive to Covid on April 1. Therefore he will be eligible for his second vaccine on July 1.

ATAGI does NOT recommend a booster dose at this time for children and adolescents aged under 18 who do not have any risk factors for severe Covid-19.

ATAGI advises that children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 who have medical comorbidities that increase their risk of severe Covid-19, or disability with significant or complex health needs should consider a 2023 booster dose if their last Covid-19 vaccine dose or confirmed infection (whichever is most recent) was 6 months ago or longer, and regardless of the number of prior doses received.
